I woke up early in the morning as usual and couldn’t sleep good last night either despite the fact that I was really tired yesterday. So I took shower and went downstairs to have breakfast. I went for the usual things that I had yesterday. I couldn’t get hold of anyone from yesterday and I wasn’t sure about the plan either.
After breakfast, I decided to walk to my favorite place hoping that I’ll be able to find some peace and sleep there. I went there and yes, I managed to rest there as I lay on the grass, I slept for a couple of minutes.
After spending sometime there, I decided to go back to hostel and check what’s going on there. When I reached hostel, it turned out that Chelsea managed to rent car. We decided to drive to western Iceland to Snæfellsjökull which is a 700,000-year-old stratovolcano with a glacier covering its summit. So we got into cars and started the drive
We continue with the drive and as we went further, weather started to change and from blue sky, it became rainy and the mountains also started to become snowy. We came across a very nice view with frozen lake and decided to stop there
After spending sometime there, we decided to continue the drive and after going through awesome landscape, we got really close to Snæfellsjökull. Only problem, due to snow, road was closed for drive and from there it was a 6 kilometers hike and we didn’t have enough time for that. We parked the car and decided to hike a bit anyway
A bit more hiking and we reached an awesome place to sit down and rest. It was really quite and peaceful there. It was just 4 of us and later another guy from US came there too.
There, we asked the guy from US to take pictures of us
It was getting late, so it was time to return. Hatim and girls wanted to eat something before we go back and I wanted to climb small mountain in front of me. I asked them to go down and eat and I will join them later. I went up and Hatim took a picture of me from down there
After that, I went down and this is the view where they were having lunch. Pretty sweet, eh?
After having lunch, we all got into car and started the journey back to hostel. Again, as we drove, weather and landscape started to change significantly every kilometer. We were relying on GPS in the car to get back to hostel and followed the suggested route. After an hour of drive, we ended up here
Apparently, road was closed and we were lost. But instead of going back into car immediately, we decided to take advantage of getting lost. We started wandering around and across some many beautiful view like boiling water coming out of earth
After spending quite sometime there in solitude, we decided to find a new route and drive back. We drove back for another hour or so. I managed to find a bit of peace for myself. Although the fight inside me was slowing down, but I didn’t keep me from missing someone. It hurt with the same magnitude as always.
Anyway, we reached the parking near Hostel and Chelsea parked the car there. Me and Hatim went out to get something to eat and ended up at Chinese place again. I wasn’t really hungry so I didn’t eat much. Later we went back to Hostel and I spent sometime again in Kitchen to socialize with people around. Later I went up to my dorm and fell on bed hoping I’ll sleep tonight.
